What is Indonesian Women in Cybersecurity (IWCS)?

In 2021 several inspiring female figures from various Indonesian cybersecurity institutions
and leading Indonesian companies gathered and agreed to create a movement called
Indonesia Women in Cybersecurity (IWCS).

Mission

IWCS’s mission is to empower women and girls in Indonesia
to contribute to the development of cyber security.

Encouraging women to choose
cybersecurity as a career through
changing the perception of jobs in
cybersecurity and help more women to
become leaders in the cybersecurity

Empowering women to be able to
participate actively and play a role in
cybersecurity, by providing access to
information on existing education and
professional opportunities.

Awareness

Raising awareness of cyber security, especially on issues
that can be detrimental or harmful.

Mentorship

Providing support, experience, information, and inspiration
to female students and professionals pursuing a career in
cybersecurity.

Education

Learning to develop self potential in terms of cybersecurity.
Can be in the form of training, or sharing knowledge and so on.

Apprenticeship

Supporting the careers of Indonesian women in cybersecurity field.
Train the new generation through apprenticeship programs with a direct
training approach in the workplace so as to accelerate the improvement
of the quality of human resources.

IWCS was formally launched on April 21, 2021,

with support from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Coordinating Ministry for PMK, academia, industry, and the community.
